Field Trip: Paris Golf Tournament

The Tournament

The inaugural "Field Trip: Paris" golf tournament unfolded with great success on June 17th, 2024, at the prestigious RCF La Boulie Golf Club in Versailles, France. Organized by Students Golf & Bodega in partnership with the renowned WRKS Agency based in Paris, the event marked a significant convergence of the emerging golf movement and key folks in the fashion industry consisting of brands and retailers during Paris Fashion Week.

Attendees were called for a 6:30 AM departure time from Crowne Plaza Republique and were shuttled in a bus to the golf course. The tournament featured an engaging "2-Man Best Ball" format with handicap indexes, where teams competed fiercely for a chance to advance to the climactic bonus round, "The Shootout." In The Shootout, the top 10 teams battled it out in a nerve racking 2-man alternate shot competition, showcasing precision, strategy, and teamwork under pressure in front of their peers.

"We are thrilled with the enthusiastic response and high level of competition at the 'Field Trip: Paris' golf tournament," said organizers from Students Golf, Bodega and WRKS Agency. "This event not only celebrates the sport of golf but also serves as a unique platform for professionals in both golf and fashion to connect and collaborate." With the goal of promoting inclusivity and diversity, the tournament successfully fostered a new sense of community and energy among golf brands and entities to cultivate the growth of golf culture and team camaraderie.

In alignment with the city of Paris, we partnered up with Sports Dans La Ville of France, a local charity to help raise funds for the organization. “When we were brainstorming with Dan, Co-Founder of Bodega, he was adamant about making sure our golf tournament would benefit a charity. That is a no brainer for us at Students as we’ve continuously put efforts to find local organizations such as SCGA Junior to support. That’s why we’ve aligned with Bodega to host the event. As students of the earth, we wanted to do something great together and grow the game on our home soil but also internationally as well... and for many more years to come,” says founder of Students, Michael Huynh.

Students and Bodega collaborated and designed custom products with brands like Jason Markk, Callaway Golf, FootJoy, adidas Golf, iOMIC, AddElm, Fyfe, Anti Country Club, Number Thirty Three Tees, Seamus Golf and more. These brands contributed significantly to the event's success, ensuring a seamless experience for participants and spectators alike.

Having notable roster of attendees from prominent brands and agencies there to support the event such as New Balance Golf, ASICS, @golfprojects, your first top 8 friends “Tom Anderson” formerly of MySpace, Ellesse, Proscott Agency, Undefeated, East Pacific Trade, ASSC, PLEASURES, Sperry Top-Sider, MARKET, Extra Butter, Le Golf Au Féminin, Atmos Japan, Pluto of St Andrews, the Divot STORE, MANORS Golf, Bisque Golf, Club72, Nouveau, Capt's Helm, Skratch, Marsh Maille, KASINA,further elevated the event's prestige and networking opportunities.

"Aside from the thrilling competition on the course, we are looking forward to the 'Field Trip: Paris' tournament every summer In Paris in hopes to grow the sport internationally through our lens. Possibly with a live music concert component too," added the organizers. "Our event was designed to bridge the gap between fashion and golf, setting a new standard for synergy between golf and the global fashion community. A partner like Bodega is super key in growing the sport through the retail channels. We hope we can create a new lane in golf retail so we can collectively grow this sport together with other brands and retailers."
